At the ceremonial awarding of the “Export and Innovation Award 2023” competition, companies that excelled in exports in the past year and created new and innovative products or services were honored. Among them were Latvijas Piens Ltd. and AKG Thermotechnik Lettland Ltd..

This year, according to the regulations, awards were granted in categories such as “Export Champion,” “Innovation Champion,” “Export Newcomer,” “Export Growth Leader,” and “Most Export-Capable New Tourism Product.” Winners were determined by the jury commission evaluating Central Statistical Bureau data on company exports, created added value, profitability, number of employees, and other indicators.

In the category of “Export Growth Leader” in the “Knowledge-Intensive Bioeconomy – Food” sector and the company group with a staff count of 10 to 249, Latvijas Piens Ltd. received the award. Meanwhile, in the category of “Export Growth Leader” in the “Smart Energy and Mobility” sector and the company group with a staff count of 250 or more, AKG Thermotechnik Lettland Ltd. was honored.

It should be noted that the “Export and Innovation Award” competition is the highest state award in business, organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics, the Central Statistical Bureau, the financial institution “Altum,” and the Latvian Exporters Association “The Red Jackets”.
