Rundāle Palace informs that from November 4th to November 26th, the exhibition “The Courland Dukes’ Tombs” at Jelgava Castle, under its management, will be closed. However, from November 27th, the tombs will be open to visitors five days a week.

Starting from November 27th, the exhibition will be open to visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, daily from 10:00 to 16:00.

It should be reminded that the Courland Dukes’ Tombs in Jelgava Castle is the largest burial site of its kind in Latvia, and one of the few royal dynastic burial sites in the world that is open to the public. It contains 21 metal sarcophagi and nine wooden coffins, in which 24 members of the Kettler dynasty (1569–1737) and six members of the Biron dynasty (1737–1795) are buried.
