Next week we will celebrate Jelgava’s 759th birthday. Residents and visitors are invited to take photos as a keepsake or as a greeting to Jelgava on its anniversary. Photo frames designed as festive postcards have been set up on Driksa Street and in Ozolskvērs. Festive decorations in the city’s colours have also been placed elsewhere.

The municipal institution “Pilsētsaimniecība” indicates that a large photo frame “Jelgava City Silhouette” with the inscription “Jelgava 759” has been installed on the pedestrian section of Driksa Street, and above the pedestrian section of Driksa Street, blue, red, and white pennants with lights have been placed. Jānis Čakste Boulevard is adorned with two flag stands with mesh banners and the inscriptions “Jelgava – City for Development”, and the stands hold three flags in blue and dark red colours. Another large photo frame “SMS – We Are Jelgava” has been installed in Ozolsskvērs at the intersection of Lielā Street and Pulkveža Oskars Kalpaks Street.

The large-format postcard photo frames are decorated with a city festival theme. Everyone is invited to take a photo by them to share the joy or send a greeting to Jelgava on its birthday. Photos taken by the postcard frames can be posted on social networks with the hashtags #MesEsamJelgava and #Jelgavai759.

It should be noted that the streetlight poles on Lielā Street are decorated with banners in the colours of the national flag and the Jelgava flag.
