In November, when we celebrate Lāčplēsis Day and Latvia’s Proclamation Day, Jelgava has been decorated for the national holidays. Decorations have been set up in various areas of the city.

In Duke Jēkaba Square, five flag decoration structures have been installed, along with flag decorations on lighting poles along the sidewalk leading to the Jelgava Cultural Center. During the night, the branches of trees in Duke Jēkaba Square are illuminated with red and white LED lights, creating an additional festive atmosphere. Additionally, banners in the national flag colors have been installed on the lighting poles along Lielā street.

Flag decorations also adorn other locations in the city. They have been installed at the intersection of Riga street and Loka maģistrāle avenue, on Rūpniecības street, in the green area near the Jelgava Railway Station, at the intersection of the Lietuvas šosejas and Miera street, and at the junction of Kalnciema ceļa and Vecais Ceļš. Flag decoration groups with fluttering national flags are also placed near the Strazdu street bus stop on Riga street and at Satiksmes street 59. Similar ones can be found at the corner of Alunāna park, as well as at the junction of Riga street and Brīvības bulvāris corner.

Three red, white, and red “Shoots” decorations are located in the traffic roundabout on Pasta street, while on Dobeles šosejā near the Alley of Love, there is an optical decoration with the Lielvārde belt motif.

The majority of the city’s decorations are illuminated. The lighting is switched on during the night in coordination with the city’s street lighting.
