Chefs invite you to gastronomy festival ” baudĒŠANA “

From April 10 to 16, the traditional gastronomy festival ” baudĒŠANA in Jelgava” will take place in Jelgava and its surroundings, inviting you to discover new flavors in springtime meals created in the cafes, restaurants, and manor kitchens of Jelgava and the Jelgava region. 18 dining establishments will participate in the event with their special offerings.

The Jelgava Regional Tourism Center notes that for both local and distant gourmands, ” baudĒŠANA in Jelgava” provides an opportunity for unhurried family gatherings outside the home, discovering new tastes and dining venues, and also suggests visiting restaurants not only on holidays but also on regular days. Fresh, spring-like, and flavorsome meals, differing from the everyday offerings of establishments, will be offered to enjoy during the event week by 18 restaurants, cafes, taverns, and pastry shops.

In Jelgava, guests will be warmly welcomed at restaurants such as “Chocolate & Pepper”, “Pilsētas elpa”, “Parks”, “Central cafe”, tavern “Istaba”, bistro “Silva” and tea shop “Silva”, Noliktava Nr.2, cafe “Brokastnīca” and cake shop “Putni”. Meanwhile, in the Jelgava region, dining establishments such as “Pūteļkrogs,” “Agate,” “Aitiņlauvas,” restaurant-grill bar “Masti Grill & Chill,” cafe-restaurant ” Zemnieka cienasts,” cafe “Svētes klubs,” Blankenfelde Manor, and Abgunste Manor will delight visitors with their ” baudĒŠANA ” offerings. It should be noted that Abgunste Manor will create a special atmosphere on April 12 and 14, Blankenfeld Manor on April 13, and the cake shop “Putni” from April 10 to 14.

Gourmands will have the opportunity to taste spring garden salads with grilled chicken and plum sauce, avocado tartare with crayfish tails, Argentine red shrimp with asparagus and Beurre blanc sauce, Greek yogurt-cucumber cold soup, seafood gumbo, airy spinach-sorrel mousse, caramelized nut waffle with pineapple, citrus fruits, and cottage cheese cream, rhubarb mousse, and many other delicacies.

In February, 16 dining establishments in Jelgava and the Jelgava region established the Jelgava Catering and Hospitality Industry Association. Its activities are aimed at promoting the development of the catering and hospitality industry in Jelgava and the region, representing the interests of the industry at the municipal and national levels, as well as promoting accessibility and development in matters related to catering and hospitality. Most of the association’s members will participate in the ” baudĒŠANA in Jelgava” event.

The gastronomy festival ” baudĒŠANA in Jelgava” takes place twice a year – in spring and autumn. The event is organized by the Jelgava Regional Tourism Center in collaboration with the city of Jelgava, the Jelgava region, and the city and surrounding area dining establishments.
